6 Lobe Pin-In Button Head Security M/S Full Thrd 410 Stainless Steel Passivated
A fastener that drills and taps its own hole. The 18-8 stainless drill screw offers superior corrosion resistance as compared with the 410 stainless. The 410-stainless drill screws--since they are hardened--can be used to drill into harder steels than the 18-8 variety. The hardness of the material to be drilled should be a minimum of 10-20 Rockwell hardness points less than the screws hardness. The pin-in recess provides a deterrent against loosening the screw, since a standard six-lobe screwdriver cannot engage with the recess. A specially designed driver--not commonly available in the retail market--is required to install or loosen the screw
